New Canaan Library: Identity Program

BrandingDecember 2, 2024December 3, 2024

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The town of New Canaan needed a modern day library — a transformational space that creates endless opportunities for kids and adults to gather, learn, and grow.

Inspired by the mid-century modern design movement (which has deep roots in New Canaan), the new 42,000+ square foot Library building links the built environment to its natural surroundings. Indoor and outdoor spaces will now integrate to create new programming and experiential possibilities.

A new brand identity was needed.

THE LOGO

The central element of the New Canaan Library identity program is the logo, which consists of an Icon representing the building coupled with customized Lettering.

CHILDREN’S LOGO

Optional specialty logo variations for Children’s Program applications have been developed.

ADDITIONAL VISUAL ELEMENTS

Using the various shapes from the Icon, patterns were developed to be used as supporting graphic elements to further the brand impact.
