Craft beer label designs are, now more than ever, riddled with detailed illustrations, bold type, and strong patterns. The competition for shelf space had resulted in designers competing for the biggest and best design.

Instead of trying to create a heavily illustrated label design that would blend in with the rest of the bunch, I decided to create a craft beer series that was stripped back to the necessities: Name of the brewing company, and the type of beer. In the center of each can is a huge QR code which, when scanned with a phone, leads the viewer to information about the beer. This interactive element of the design not only keeps the can clear of clutter, but adds a fun and different way for the customer to access the information they need.
